ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY AND PREVENTION OF COMMERCIAL SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS (CSEC)

Hoteles Bogotá Plaza is an organization committed to combating exploitation, pornography, and sexual tourism involving children and adolescents. We ensure compliance with Law 679 of 2001 and Law 1336 of 2009.

Guests, visitors, and any other person are warned that the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the context of travel and tourism (CSEC) in Colombia is a crime as stipulated by the Penal Code.

The Colombian State condemns sexual, erotic, or pornographic activities involving minors under 18 years of age, a crime that will be prosecuted and punished with penalties of up to thirty-three (33) years in prison. The Colombian Penal Code, Law 599 of 2000, Article 219, establishes that “anyone who directs, organizes, or promotes tourist activities that include the sexual exploitation of minors will face imprisonment of four (4) to eight (8) years.”

In compliance with Colombian regulations and to ensure the registration of minors, they must be accompanied by their parents and/or legal representatives, presenting their civil registration or identification document at check-in according to their place of birth. If accompanied by an adult other than their parents and/or legal representative, this authorization must be notarized or consular-certified in accordance with the country of origin, also presenting a copy of the parents’ and/or legal representative’s identification documents.
